We continue to move south and our first stop is Geraldton. We are happy to finally be in a town that has great supermarkets and a Bunnings!!!! It’s been a while. The distance between places in Western Australia has made us appreciate the convenience we have at home, hate to say it but even the Coles in Daylesford is a luxury compared with some of the places we have been. We have had to plan ahead with simple groceries, and the most important commodity – water. It’s given us a new appreciation of its value.
Next we went to Cervantes where the Pinnacles are. We met with Michelle and Simon, fancy that, and had a great catch up, compared our Crusader caravans and ate rock lobster at the Lobster Shack. Once again there were great beaches and interesting things to see.
Then we went to the Wheat Belt. This is north(ish) east of Perth and the farmers had planted their wheat and canola, with lots of green and gold in the paddocks. The towns all share their history and have represented it in an arty way, plus there are lots of museums showing the lives and equipment of early European settlement in the area. I don’t know what the inspiration for the Tin Horse Highway was, but we had a great laugh driving on it. Enjoy the video here –> https://youtu.be/OweG-EI-M6g
