Noddy's adventures

Esperance

Esperance is around 900km from Perth, here is exactly where it is (in the white circle at the bottom centre of the map)

To say this place was rugged and magnificent is an understatement. There are 60 beaches, each one more beguiling than the previous. It was great to relax and explore as many as we could.

Cape Le Grande National Park is nearby, it contains many of the 60 beaches and arguably the most beautiful of them all. You’ll have to watch the video to see it – even though a storm was approaching it was magnificent. We climbed Frenchman’s Peak, it was an interesting scramble up over a smooth rock surface and even more bone-crunching on the way down. Had we slipped we would have rolled all the way to the bottom as there was no vegetation to stop us! The views from the top were magnificent which made up for the pain.

On the way to the national park we encountered a full sized replica of the original Stonehenge! I have no idea why someone would want to do that, but it was interesting. The granite was from a nearby quarry and is built to line up with the sun during solstices. If you don’t believe me, here is the proof –>

Our final day was spent hunkering down as a massive storm rolled through. It was reported on the news that the storm front was bigger than New South Wales.
